Persuasive Hues to Monochrome
2500 sq feet House perched in the bustling city of Ahmedabad. The house was designed for a couple having two children- a son and a daughter. The client was a real estate developer, who came to us with diverse requirements. He was having an affection for monochrome hues in the interior as a major theme, at the same time all four users having a different inclination to individual choices of colors and materials. At the same time, all of them crave luxurious interiors.
Already constructed house given minor modification to edify better space planning and quality. The house has a living room adjoining to dining and kitchen which was connected with a marginal ephemeral courtyard space that opens as double-height to the upper floor lounge area. A guest bedroom at the same level. The upper floor has two suit rooms – one as the master bedroom and another one of a daughter connected through a lounge area. While the top floor of the house has a master suite of their son includes a lounge area opening to the terrace.
A dramatic play of monochrome hues and modern design celebrates functional and modern luxury living and contemporary settings. A splash of shuttled color and material added to the wholesome palette responding diverse requirements of each user. Everything is designed to suit a certain activity along with aesthetics. All the elements needed to come together as a part of one entity and look like they were apart from each other. Sometimes as a designer, it’s a very interesting process to overcome various requirements at a time and visualize a wholesome concept as a whole entity. The contemplating details and expound process make it successful. As an overall concept the entire design flimflam colors, materials, and details to conceive a luxury modern setup.
The living room has been designed in grey and white as keeping the base concept by adding a splash of blue to the furniture and art. A muted color palette threaded with brass, greys, and blacks sets a theme of understated sophistication and luxury. Adding natural material to interiors edify its core value regardless of blending with any theme or concept. Beyond the living area lies the spacious dining and kitchen replete with bespoke design. We laid hold of marginal space adjoining to dining space and converted it to a courtyard having brick as natural cladding and some greens as contemplating elements. The bespoke dining table having white Italian marble above to add luxury to space. Ceiling crafted from bespoke dark charcoal veneer and translucent light fixture above. The kitchen shutters were made from customized glass having white stone figures inside to replicate and synchronize with the dining area.
Intricate details in stairs with brass inlay and bespoke railing detail make it a perfect setup. Several design elements stand out, making this a perfect home. Textured walls and flooring and use of natural and interior lights, lending depth and character to space. Each and every section overlooks the outdoors and carries a wholesome palette with diverse choices—the bathrooms too.
The upper floor has a lounge area that connects to the two-bedroom – master bedroom and daughter’s room. Master bedroom crafted with rustic wooden panel and a cozy sitting corner of room having brick as a cladding and subtle-colored furniture. The bed back in a beige grey color complementing the backside wooden and textured backdrop. Adjoining bathroom having same shades stone as cladding which was given inlay pattern of copper in overall geometric concept. The lounge carries the same bespoke veneer as dining in panel and ceiling opens to same double-height court. Carrying the same lighting pattern gives overall continuity. The lower couches crafted in shades of monochrome fabric. The informal area that connects all bedrooms delineated as a relaxed area.
The enthralling design of the daughter’s room contemplates the requirement of her having subtle pink as fabric color and some tropical touch to the modern and luxurious palette. The use of bespoke white veneer and a pink colored canopy bed upshot to a distinctive interior language. The canopy bed having white-colored sheer curtains in the surrounding. The study area adjoining to sitting space in the room crafted with all white wood veneer and concluded to open racks behind the table to accommodate some astounding collections from her travel.
The uppermost flooring having a suite bedroom of a son. An ebony palette dominates his bedroom, where pops of yellow, blue, and grey lend an industrial-chic look. The lower deck bed continues to the back wall and upper slopping geometry. The slopping geometry was designed to hide tortuous construction junctions. The triangles were elements to add some geometry to hues. Wardrobe shutters cladded with each piece of the triangle of wood and mirror to replicate a unique pattern of the mirror above. Complimenting same a bespoke chandelier designed for ceiling and side of the bed. The ceiling hanging fixture hides A.C. in the overall palette yet effective for airflow. The ombre mirror pattern on the wardrobe came out as a bedding setup in rusty ombre of blues. Patterned fabric chair compliments overall greys and blacks. A common affection of us and the client towards galaxies and space led to the design entire ceiling of the lounge area adjoining the bed area in a particular way. The ceiling designed customized from around 25,000 tinny lights blinks on a time basis on curved black to portray as galaxies above. And the lounger and tv unit kept in continuity with the overall concept.
So, Keeping all user’s different requirements and inclinations and molding them to a single setup been a very interesting journey for us. It was like managing different hues from different people and developing bespoke interiors. That’s why we name it Persuasive hues to monochrome.
